Nike co-founder and chairman (and former CEO) Phil Knight has listed a one-acre plot of land located in the ultra-exclusive golf resort community of La Quinta, CA.
His chunk of land at The Madison Club is listed for $2.5 million and overlooks the parkland-style course’s 13th green. Designed by Tom Fazio, the private course is billed as “an unmatched experience for even the most seasoned golfer.”
The footwear founder had purchased a $4.2 million house in The Madison Club earlier in 2015, according to The Desert Sun.
The lot for sale also offers unobstructed views of the course’s lake and the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto mountains, according to the listing.
The Madison Club is private and offers a clubhouse, restaurant, movie theater, fitness center and spa for its members.
Knight recently announced plans to step down from his role at Nike after more than five decades with the company. The former CEO plans to stay actively involved with one of the largest brands in sports, but he’ll also have more down time to enjoy golfing in the desert.
